MacGregor is one of the residential suburbs in the city of Brisbane. As of 2011, the suburb had a population of 5,576 residents. It is located 12 kilometres southeast from the Brisbane central business district. MacGregor occupies an area of 2.8 km. sq.

The suburb was named after the Governor of Queensland from 1909 to 1914, Sir William MacGregor.

In accordance with the 2011 Australian census, 51.6% of the population was female and 48.4% were male. The suburbs median age was 32 years, 5 years younger compared to the Australian median. 41.9% of the MacGregor population was made up of people who were born in the country, and 44.4% were people who use the English language as they communicate at home.

There are two public schools within the suburb; MacGregor State School and MacGregor State High School. The high school was established in 1969 with nine teachers and over 200 students enrolled. The school became notable on November 1973.
