Pool builders Chelmer, Brisbane

Located 8 km west of central Brisbane and south side of a bend in the Brisbane River, lies the residential suburb of Chelmer. This suburb is held under the Federal Division of Moreton. The areas that surround the suburb of Chelmer are Indooroopilly and Graceville.

The suburb got its name from the Chelmer railway station around 1880s. The railway station was known before as Oxley Point and Riverton.

According to the 2011 census, the suburb tallied a population of more than 2,500 individuals. The suburb's median age was 38, a year higher compared to the national median of 37. A statistic record shows that 89.6% of the residents spoke only English at home. In 2016, Chelmer's population went up to almost 3,000.

In 1922, a school of arts was established in the area. The school was used for the Anglican Church service in 1923. The Brisbane Golf Club was also opened in the suburb in 1896. Until 1903, it was transferred to Yeerongpilly and is located at the corner of Honour Avenue and Hurlton Street.  In 1998, the Milpera State High School was established.

The suburb has 3 heritage-listed sites; the Walter Taylor Bridge, Chelmer Police College and the Swain House.

Names that represent the suburb when it comes to sports are the Western Magpies Australian Football Club and the Kenmore Australian Football Club. The Western Magpies compete in the Division One of the AFLQ State League, while the Kenmore Bears compete in the Division One of the AFLQ State Association.
