Greenslopes is a suburb known for being a perfect mix of residential spaces with a little bit of light industrial facilities just to spice up the economic activity in the area.

The suburb is just a short five-kilometre drive from Brisbane's Central Business District. Named after an estate built by F. Wecker back in 1857, Greenslopes' name was inspired by the pastures of the land that was so lush and abundant, one can't help but think about how these slopes are so green.

Quite a lot of estates were built in the area in the past including the Dunellan, Thompson, and the Mount Pleasant Estates. The name Dunellan was adopted into a street name in the suburb today, it is adjacent to where the state school is located.

After the establishment of these settlements, more and more development arrived in Greenslopes. Despite these changes in Greenslopes, there are still a lot of houses in the suburb that are considered as 'character homes' or houses that were built before the war. These pre-war homes give Greenslopes its distinct identity, so much so that the authorities are against making any changes to these homes. Newly-constructed homes are even encouraged to be built according to this traditional architectural style to maintain the identity of the suburb while giving it a renewed look at the same time. Despite all these efforts of preservation, apartment buildings are still being built.

All in all, homes in Greenslopes have the utmost respect for their roots and believes that these values will guide them to building a bond that would last lifetimes, much like how the character homes have survived wars and years.
